Partnered with Caandor Labs to manage the production of a documentary film, companion short video series, and accompanying photography commissioned by the City of Middleburg, Virginia. The project sought to honor and preserve the oral histories and cultural legacy of Asbury Church and its surrounding community through a blend of cinematic storytelling and documentary portraiture.
The Challenge
The project aimed to document a significant chapter of local Black history while coordinating across multiple stakeholders—city representatives, community members, and the Caandor Labs creative team. The goal was to produce a high-quality documentary, companion short stories and portraiture that balanced historical accuracy, artistic vision, and community sensitivity.
My Role
As project manager and field producer, I oversaw logistics, communication, and timeline management across creative and client teams.
Facilitated production planning and logistics alongside the creative producer, ensuring timelines and deliverables stayed on track.
Served as the bridge between city officials, and Caandor Labs creative team
Supported the creative producer in managing, talents, interviews and asset organization.
Ensured that all production milestones—from pre-production planning to post-production review—were in alignment with client expectations.
Outcome
Delivered a suite of storytelling assets, including a documentary, short video interviews, and a curated photo collection documenting community members.
Managed post-production review and delivery, ensuring final assets met both creative and city requirements.
